roots of management programme

what is it?

The Roots of Management Programme puts into place the sound building blocks and practices of excellent management. We believe that every manager should exhibit these building blocks no matter what their personal style or role is. The programme itself, whilst covering these building blocks is tailored extensively for your organisation.

who is it for?

It's for new or young managers or those who aspire to be managers or supervisors. It can also serve as a refresher programme for more experienced managers who are looking to reset management standards.

why is it necessary?

One of the biggest oversights we've seen in organisations is that people are thrown into management roles with little or no training. Often the skill sets required for their new role are very different from those that propelled them into that new role. As a consequence they focus on the wrong types of activities, resulting in overload for themselves and others. Management roles brings new challenges; they are introduced to the organisational politics, new levels of complexity and having to influence people outside of their comfort zones. The skills required to deal with these take time to train and embed.

why will it be effective?

We pay great attention to making sure they put into practice what they are learning. Our follow up is extensive and we set many practical challenges so that participants can begin to embed the skills. We believe we're very good at engaging the delegates who attend our programmes. We also work in real time with their actual working lives so that everything we do is relevant to them. Finally there is an emphasis on personal growth because managerial growth goes hand in hand with this.

What's the experience for the participants

it will be deeply relevant to their everyday working lives. It will be honest, personal and fun. It will of course be super interactive and tailored to them.  Our clients tell us that the programmes are always thought provoking and they frequently produce a profound shift in individuals.

What will be Covered?

This is up to you, but we usually cover key topics such as goal setting, organisation and planning, time management, communication, problem solving, motivation, coaching and feedback and continual growth.

We can’t get enough of them! Their training is not only relevant; it gets to the deep core of learning that has a longer term impact on our employees. The added bonus is that staff consistently come out having enjoyed training.
